It always amazes me that no matter how many times I do a pictorial, I always see every couple with fresh eyes. Indeed, every couple exhibits a unique bond, and my task is to adequately capture it in every flicker of my camera, in every shot that I take.

To Glenn and Anna: It is a pleasure to spend a fun afternoon with you (and I’m even more delighted to see that you two look very much alike!). We are grateful for the trust you have given us......

During our pictorial, there were airplanes around the area and this reminded me of a shot by David, a foreign photographer. After observing the first few planes come in, I prepared my 1DS Mark2 with 16-35 lens on it so that I will be able to capture a picture of my couple dancing with a background of an airplane above...

I can really say that the second most awaited day apart from the wedding itself is the prenup pictorial. Take for instance, this couple Glenn and Anna: Glenn was fidgety and worried that it will rain and that it might ruin everything, while Anna hardly slept the night before. As with any important event, Anna told me that everyone around them was both nervous and excited.

...Look at the fog...

...These photos below just scream "L O V E " between the two!...

Glenn and Anna were so fabulous!
They were up anything and Anna had no second thoughts whatsoever about lying and crawling down in the grass.

And so that day had come. The four of us, me, my assistant Eric and the couple threw all cautions in the wind and had a blast. We laid in the grass, danced in the rain and stared at the snails, as the little ducks and the flamingoes nonchalantly played in the background.

Thank you so much for letting me capture the spirit of both of you being engaged... enjoy your last days of being an engaged couple!

Use of Off-Camera Light

Watch out the video and see how quickly you can get lost in a simple series of flashlight time exposures. A brilliant execution and very nice concept.

SUMMER OUTING ???

DATE : JULY 11, 2007
VENUE : SHUNJI'S RESORT

Schedules are too hectic for Smart Shot Staff and the only way we can get a break is by closing our office on a weekday. This is an annual activity for my staff although it is quite irony to hear summer outing in JULY. Last May 2006, we had our outing in Buacan and it was really a HOT SWIMMING PARTY.....

Swimming under the rain is fun... but the weather became cooperative as the rain stopped in the afternoon.

07 07 07

7th July 2007, the hottest date for weddings this year.....blessings to all wedding suppliers.

What's the perfect storm of wedding dates? Try a day that's composed of nothing but lucky numbers, has significance in many cultures, and falls right in the peak of wedding season. All the cards fall into place on July 7, 2007, better known to superstitious brides as 7/7/07.

What's the Deal?

Couples are often apt to stick with wedding traditions that are considered good luck. Tying tin cans behind the getaway car, for example, is said to ward off evil spirits (and you thought it was just to occupy the groomsmen). The number seven follows suit since "Lucky Number 7" is a jackpot for gamblers, and 7/7/07 happens only once every 100 years, which gives the event a once-in-a-lifetime feel. Pair that with the fact that July is always the most popular month to get married (it's when 11 percent of weddings take place), and 7/7/07 has become one of the most highly prized wedding dates in recent memory.

Why is 7 Significant?

In cultures and religions around the world, the number seven is recurring and almost always positive. In Chinese culture seven represents "togetherness," an appropriate notion for a newly married couple, and in Japanese mythology there are seven lucky gods, which personify earthly happiness. In Judaism God rested on the seventh day, and there are seven sacraments in the Roman Catholic faith. Seven is a sacred proportion in Islam, and Buddha is said to have taken seven symbolic steps at birth.

Other Ways to Incorporate 7

While 7/7/07 has a nice ring to it (and makes it practically impossible for husbands to forget an anniversary), even couples who aren't getting married on July 7 can work the lucky number into their wedding in unique ways.

Start your ceremony at 7 p.m.
Have seven bridesmaids and seven groomsmen for a symmetrical and auspicious wedding party.
Serve a seven-course meal to incorporate the number into your catering.
Do your first dance to the Prince song "7".
Carry a bouquet filled with seven types of flowers.
Cut into a seven-layer cake made of seven flavors, or offer seven options on a dessert buffet.
Serve Seagram's 7 and 7UP signature cocktails.
Give your wedding party iPod shuffles filled with your favorite seven songs.
Give guests scratch-off tickets in glassine envelopes with "lucky in love" stickers.
